
Well here’s something a little different: a romantic comedy with a touch of very modern technology and philosophy. And it works.

We have to assume there are reasons why a 91 year old filmmaker would take on a new project. And, after a rather bumpy start, Clint Eastwood slyly lets us know, yes, there are. And those reasons are conveyed with such low key adeptness, they, and the sweet story around them, almost feel like buried treasure.
Look. We’re all a bunch of frayed nerves and so, if you find a little merriment in this Ryan Murphy (Trademark) overstuffing, go. Have a good time. Or at least as good a time as you can with this insistently cheerful musical adaptation.
