This is the movie I’ve been waiting for Sean Baker to make. Mixing the zest of Tangerine, the compassion of The Florida Project and the savvy of Red Rocket, this trip through the world of sex and the oligarchy is an irresistible treat.
Like its lovely protagonist, Edie Falco’s newest tries to be all things to all people. But this slight but smart comic drama still manages to satisfy, at least some of the time.
There’s something very winning about this comedy of faith. And that something is the chemistry between its two terrific stars, Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane.
